Graphic Designer

My name is Maria Mansfield, and I am a New York-based designer originally from Texas, currently pursuing my Master of Science in Packaging, Identities, and Systems Design at Pratt Institute. I hold a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from Baylor University, where I graduated in May 2024.

Rooted in a love for visual storytelling, my creative practice spans packaging, print, and systems thinking. I approach design with a multidisciplinary lens, often blending it with my background in photography, printmaking, and sculpture to create work that blends both art and design.

As I move deeper into the world of design, I’ve become increasingly curious about sustainable methods and circular solutions. With familial roots in Norway, I often draw inspiration from Nordic principles of simplicity, longevity, and harmony with nature. I am also interested in how cultural traditions and inherited values can shape a more responsible and regenerative design practice.

Above all, I am passionate about exploring how design quietly shapes our world, and how it can be reimagined to foster more meaningful, sustainable, and human-centered experiences.
